We should know because we were there!

Taking full advantage of the after hours shopping extravaganza, Ivana Helsinki successfully drove attendees from the fashion week show to mix and mingle at the Ivana Helsinki Concept Store on 251 Elizabeth Street.
We were admittedly skeptical about Ivana Helsinki’s plans to do their fashion show on Fashion’s Night Out, considering the number of high-profile events taking place.
When we arrived at Pier 57 there was a long line of well-dressed fashion folk spanning a couple of blocks passed the entrance.
Many were questioning whether they’d get in. The show was a complete success as we’ve already noted in this post.
As the show wrapped up, we wondered who else was headed directly to the after party. It seemed unlikely that all would make the trek from Pier 57 to Nolita but would a significant number show up?
Flash forward an hour and a half— what had we ever been worried about?
Our friends at the Elizabeth St. flagship store had their hands full. We chatted with Alexa Wilding and Erika Spring about 70’s eye shadow trends whilst sipping on white wine and Swedish beer.
We mingled at the entrance with the lovely Seychelles ladies and a not slightly inebriated Spanish woman who’d attended the fashion show at Pier 57 (proof that some did make the trip!) about the unique color of the Kauniainen print.
The fashion show/FNO night was a brilliantly plotted move by the Ivana Helsinki team. Our hats off to them! Still making a splash and introducing their brand of sustainable Finnish designs stateside.
